Missions Reports & Letters
Dear Pastor Garver and friends at Levant, Thanks so much for your financial support over this past year! We’re grateful for God’s continued provision through you, especially in this time of recession. Thanks, also, for your strategic prayers. We have now finished 200 illustrations, and hope to pilot the Elementary School Bible Curriculum in four languages this coming year. Recession or no, kids need to be taught the Word of God! We also hope to have well over half of the Kifuliiru Old Testament drafted by then. It has a sweet ring to it! It was wonderful to have our son Daniel and Karen’s dad here with us for Christmas, especially as we were able to share in Daniel’s engagement to Joelle Nelson, whose parents are also missionaries living here in Nairobi. We are looking forward to their wedding here in Nairobi on May 29 of this year. As our family continues to dwindle, we have decided to move to a smaller apartment, hopefully by the end of this month! It will take a bit of time to sort out the stuff we accumulated when there were six people under our roof! It will be good to be moved, though. We are very grateful for our friendship with you, and that you got us going with the illustrations for the Bible curriculum. We are looking forward to seeing real fruit from that this year! Still have fond memories of the wonderful worship times in your church, and the nice time we had with the Garvers at the restaurant afterwards! May God continue to provide you with everything you need. You are much appreciated! Partners together in Christ, Roger, Karen and Isaac Van Otterloo |
